Newtownabbey Main Responsibilities Involved in the continuous improvement of processes and plant, and development of multiple part inspection. The Metrology Lead Engineer will be supported in this role by the site management team, technical support, engineers, WTLs, VSMs, etc. Will be required to create a standard approach to preparation and management of all CMM programs, conduct CMM training to competent Operations personnel, support ongoing improvement initiatives, and develop operator user interface.
Have the vision to help develop the CMM strategy for the company going forward. Support to enable optimal work scheduling. Provide guidance/instruction to aid team roles of surveyors and technicians. Improve work processes, assisting change. Assist in setting quality goals that will aid production performance . Continuously develop own skills and support that of the quality and manufacturing personnel as required.
Communicate on quality issues with both Support the team with any other reasonable tasks as needed Qualifications Essential Time served apprenticeship with ONC/OND (Edexcel L3 Diploma) or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Desirable Degree in relevant Engineering discipline Experience Essential Strong experience in Engineering/ Manufacturing and CMM programming in PC-DMIS and other related packages Auditing Supplier awareness Desirable Liaising closely with customers Knowledge and Skills Essential ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems High proficiency on MS software packages Ability to Interpret Engineering Drawings and specifications, especially the application of geometric tolerances Desirable A working knowledge of current continuous improvement systems and practices Personal Qualities Essential Strong communication skills A highly motivated team player A self-starter with proactive problem solving skills
