We're looking for one or more talented Associates to join our team in various locations around the UK.

Locations: Birmingham / Cardiff / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Plymouth – agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired

Hours: 40 hours per week – flexibility on hours available if desired

Salary: Starting from £70k per annum

Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment

  • A Principal Engineer, with strong technical and people management skills, and a proven track record of successful technical and commercial project delivery, looking to take the next step in your career?
  • Or already an experienced team leader in an Associate or Engineering Manager role, looking for a fresh opportunity?
  • Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards?

What will you be responsible for?

Overseeing the day-to-day activity of a local team of 8-16 technical staff, supporting a Regional Engineering Manager to lead a wider regional team of 30+ and the Head of Construction Engineering to lead a nationwide team of 100+. Leading the delivery of our most complex and/or high-value projects, whilst supporting Principal and Senior Engineers to lead the delivery of a broad range of services including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.

Responsibilities
  • Local team leadership, contributing to leadership of wider regional and national team, developing yourself and others, leading the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges
  • Acting as Project Lead for our most complex and/or high-value projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
  • Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes
