Project Engineer – Swansea

Location: Swansea
Employment Type: Permanent/Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £37.5-40k
Benefits: Company pension and 25+8 days annual leave

Our client, an established engineering organisation specialising in process design, manufacturing, and sustainable engineering solutions, is seeking a Project Engineer. The company delivers engineered systems for industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, dairy, and chemical sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design process flow diagrams, defining instrumentation and control requirements.
  • Source and procure fluid handling equipment and materials for plant construction.
  • Supervise workshop-based plant construction and liaise with workshop personnel.
  • Manage projects from inception to final acceptance, including design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning – often on-site with customers.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety-related studies.
  • Collaborate with customers throughout project progress.
  • Prepare cost estimates for sales quotations, including calculations involving fluid/thermo dynamics.
  • Conduct pilot plant trials both at our Swansea facility and on customer sites.
  • Prepare detailed trial reports.
  • Travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Experience with in process manufacturing and equipment design/specification.
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, instrumentation, and control systems (desirable).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Project management experience.
  • Full driving licence.
