Job Summary CURVE & ROYO are looking for experienced Production staff for the 2027 World Premiere & UK Tour of SAVAGE. Inspired by the life of Paul O’Grady and created with his blessing, SAVAGE is a bold and deeply moving new play by multi-award-winning writer Jonathan Harvey.

Job Description The Head of Sound will lead the Sound team for a first-class production with duties including but not limited to:
Oversee the Sound team, collaborating with the Sound Designer, associates and freelance staff during pre-production and production. Work closely with all technical departments, stage management, the acting company, resident creatives and theatre staff. Mix the show to a consistently high standard. Maintain the integrity of the sound design as set by the Designer and ensure the Production is maintained per the direction of the original creative and production teams.

Attend all rehearsals, technical rehearsals, performances, fit-ups and load-outs as required. Lead the Sound department during the fit-up and load-out. Oversee regular maintenance, ensuring all department equipment is secure, functional and well-organised.

Job Requirements Proven experience live mixing large-scale theatrical productions, including live music. Experience in managing a professional theatre sound department on touring productions, motivating and directing as necessary. Knowledge of equipment rigging, suspension and safety procedures; a formal rigging qualification is desirable. Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining complex sound systems to ensure consistent show quality. Excellent punctuality, organisation and time management, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.

Strong understanding of current Health & Safety practices, including working at height, correct use of PPE and attendance at required safety training sessions.
