Temporary A large and complex organisation in Devon is seeking an experienced interim Senior Tax Manager to lead its tax function and provide strategic tax leadership across a diverse group structure.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a senior leadership role responsible for all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, governance and advisory services. You will lead a specialist team, support year-end and audit processes, and act as the organisation's subject matter expert on tax matters.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the Tax Team, promoting high performance and continuous improvement. Overseeing all tax compliance and reporting activities, ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements. Managing tax computations and supporting the preparation of financial statements for subsidiary entities. Supporting year-end processes and working closely with external auditors. Reviewing and enhancing tax policies, procedures and controls. Identifying tax-saving opportunities and advising on tax-efficient structures and approaches.

Acting as the organisation's technical expert on tax legislation and regulatory developments. Providing proactive tax advice to senior stakeholders across the organisation. Producing high-quality reporting and analysis to support decision-making and governance requirements. Representing Finance at internal committees and working groups. About You To be successful, you will have: A recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).

A recognised tax qualification and/or significant tax accounting experience. Strong technical tax knowledge gained within a large or complex organisation. Experience preparing tax computations and ensuring regulatory compliance. Previous experience leading and developing teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. The ability to explain complex tax matters to non-finance audiences. Strong analytical and reporting capabilities. Advanced Excel and financial systems skills.

Desirable Experience Education, charity or not-for-profit sector experience. Knowledge of charity and/or education sector tax legislation. International tax exposure.
