About the roleA little about myself: I am a 14-year-old girl living in Swansea, I live with my mum and my younger brother. I have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and I am experiencing challenges with my mental health. When in the community, I can become withdrawn and anxious if I am overwhelmed. I enjoy activities that help me stay regulated, such as going for drives.
I also like visiting Starbucks and Boots. I also enjoy watching horror films. I am kind, funny and witty; it will take me a while to warm up to you, so I need patience first.

Hours and payHours of work: 4 hours per week and 6 hours per week during school holidays
Rate of pay: £13.13
Essential- Have a good understanding of neurodivergence, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is important when supporting me.
- Understand that I can become overwhelmed in public places.
- Have the ability to recognise triggers for anxiety and respond in a sensitive way.
- Understand my sensory needs and how the environment can impact my wellbeing.
- Have strong relationship building skills, if I need extra reassurance and stability.
- Have the ability to support emotional regulation and help me feel safe and understood.
- Have knowledge of coping strategies and grounding techniques to help support me if/when I become distressed
- Have an understanding of the importance of consistency and provides support with kindness and respect
- You have an interest in horror films
- You have an interest in makeup and skincare
- Accessing the community and visit places that match my interests.
- Help me feel safe, calm, and reassured in new, busy, or unpredictable environments.
- Having the opportunity to develop independence outside of my family, as I currently have limited social interaction beyond these settings.
- Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
- Be confident, mature and have patience.
- Be dependable and arrive on time and communicate if there is an issue.
- Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
- Be adaptable and flexible.
- Be supportive but not take over.
- Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
