We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join a supported living service providing both long-term and short-term support to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse issues.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in mental health and supported living who is passionate about helping people achieve their goals, develop independence and lead fulfilling lives.
You will provide frontline, person-centred support using psychologically informed, trauma-informed and ACE-informed approaches, working alongside individuals to develop their own support plans and achieve positive outcomes.
The role will involve:
Providing day-to-day support to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse issues
Acting as a designated key worker and developing person-centred support plans
Supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and build independence
Working in a psychologically informed and trauma-informed way
Promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of service users
Supporting individuals to access and maintain suitable accommodation
Helping people settle into their homes and manage their tenancies, including rent payments
Supporting individuals with prescribed medication
Arranging and facilitating support reviews and meetings
Assisting with daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, shopping and laundry where required
Working collaboratively with colleagues, care coordinators, families and external agencies
Maintaining accurate records and following health and safety procedures
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience working in supported living
Experience using psychologically informed approaches
Experience supporting people to achieve their goals and maintain their tenancies
An empathetic, diplomatic and proactive approach
A commitment to promoting dignity, independence, diversity and inclusion
A willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays
Enhanced in date DBS
A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and appropriate business insurance
