We are recruiting a Payroller for a 12‑month maternity cover contract. You will work alongside one other Payroller to help ensure colleagues across Perthyn are paid accurately and on time, supporting the smooth running of our payroll processes and contributing to strong financial governance.
What You’ll Be Doing- End‑to‑end monthly payroll processing for approximately 550 employees
- Calculating salaries, deductions and statutory payments
- Managing new starters, leavers and contractual updates
- Ensuring all payroll activity is compliant and properly authorised
- Liaising with teams to gather and verify information
- Supporting payroll‑nominal ledger reconciliation
- Assisting with audits, year‑end tasks and statutory returns
- First point of contact for payroll queries, including managing the shared payroll inbox, answering calls, and resolving queries quickly
- Maintaining accurate, confidential payroll records
- Supporting the development, coordination and implementation of policies, procedures and processes, seeking continuous improvements across payroll
- Minimum 2 years’ end-to-end payroll experience
- Highly proficient with Excel (intermediate level or above) with high daily usage
- Willingness and ability to use Excel creatively to streamline tasks and solve problems
- Strong accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams
- Understanding of payroll legislation and data protection
- Clear communication and a collaborative, supportive approach
- Ability to prioritise workload and work calmly to deadlines
Desirable: CIPP qualifications, Power BI or SharePoint experience, social‑care sector experience.
