We're partnered with a global pharmaceutical organisation that is seeking a Data Privacy Manager to support and promote strong privacy practices across the UK and EU. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with data protection laws, executing European privacy strategy, and embedding privacy by design across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection laws and a proactive approach to privacy management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage relevant assessments, including conducting a review of the assessment and providing advice on Threshold DPIAs, DPIAs, LIAs, Supplier Due Diligence Questionnaires and Data Transfer Risk Assessments
- Act as the support SME for Europe in One Trust system
- Manage the relationship with the Data Protection Representatives across Europe incl. quarterly call preparation, minute taking and material development/coordination
- Coordinate and compile monitoring activities, including reporting metrics (KPIs & KRIs) related to data protection in Europe
- Coordinate the review cycle for the European Risk Register
- Develop and maintain knowledge banks and resources, such as guidance documents and playbooks related to data protection
- Supports functional areas with advices related to data protection
- Support the DP team on contractual negotiations
- Conduct horizon-scanning and document changes in DP laws and the regulatory environment
- Support the management of Data Subject Requests, training and communications and maintaining and updating Records of Processing Activities and running of the new joiner Induction training
- Provide ad-hoc support for the EDPO and Snr. Privacy Manager, Europe across various areas, including legal research, providing advice on DP matters and Incident Response
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in data privacy or a related role
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT are desired
- Working understanding of English is essential
