IT Support, Systems Engineer
Are you an experienced IT Field Engineer looking to support the technical functionality of the NHS? We have an urgent need for a Field Service Engineer to respond to tickets raised by our NHS Clients and provide assistance to users with issues their IT infrastructure. This will include tasks such as building and imaging new devices, installing new kit, repairing devices, laptops, desktops, printers, etc.
This role involves regular travel to client sites across Norfolk and Suffolk, so applicants must be based within or close to these areas to support daily site visits. In addition, you will occasionally be required to attend our Huntingdon office to collect and return equipment.
What you’ll be doing- Break fix support of IT equipment on the users’ sites
- Build and image devices
- Testing kit prior to installation and handing over to the users
- Provide second line support
- Carry out project tasks as required to support additional project work
- Accurately assess time to complete tasks in order to follow standard project processes and procedures
- Be aware of the relevant SLA structure and respond, fix or elevate according to the limits set out within that structure
- Manage tickets on the ITSM tool, Cherwell, to ensure tickets are managed efficiently
- Maintain operational and user procedures to ensure the Team Leader is informed of progress
- Demonstrable experience of working as a Field Engineer providing 2nd level support
- Knowledge to be able to identify problems and fix accordingly
- Experience with in a customer support environment and working to tight deadlines
- Ability to travel to customer sites frequently to manage the workload
- Experience of File/Print Clusters
- Enterprise level thin client environments
- Messaging systems
- Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent
- Diploma in Computer Sciences
