Data Standards and Evidence Consultant PowerBI, SQL

Due to our ongoing growth and the large number of recruitment projects we undertake for our partners, we are currently looking for:

Responsibilities:

• Delivery plan including methodology, timetable, risks and dependencies
• Create an operational and clearly defined core dataset which has prioritised indicators linked to policy, briefing, thought leadership and communications needs, classified as core, extended or developmental
• Produce data dictionary that has agreed definitions, sources, calculation rules, coverage, reporting frequency, quality checks, confidentiality classifications and limitations as appropriate
• Develop data collection toolkit which consists of standard data-return template, completion guidance, validation rules, institutional sign-off process and case-study template
• Perform one test run for any updation and revisions to the above deliverables

Requirements:

• Strong experience in data standards, evidence frameworks, data architecture, statistical reporting or a related field
• Experience in developing data dictionaries, indicator frameworks, taxonomies or common reporting standards
• Experience mapping and reconciling data across multiple organisations, functions or source systems
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, validation, comparability and assurance
• Ability to translate policy, research and communications questions into measurable indicators and data specifications
• Understanding of inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, impact and additionality
• Experience in designing proportionate data-collection, validation and reporting processes
• Experience managing confidential, commercially sensitive and personal information

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with datasets and frameworks relating to higher education, research and innovation, business engagement, investment, employment, international mobility, and economic or social impact
• Experience of transnational education or international branch campuses
• Familiarity with data visualisation, Power BI, Excel, SQL or related tools
