School Caretaker - Blaenau Gwent
Pay: £15-£18 per hour, depending on experience | Full-Time |

Academics is seeking a dependable and practical individual for a Caretaker position at a local primary school in Blaenau Gwent, starting on 2nd November.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on maintenance skills who takes pride in creating a safe, clean and welcoming school environment. You will help ensure the premises are well-maintained and ready for pupils, staff and visitors each day.
The Role
Your duties as a Caretaker will include:
Opening and securing the school premises at designated times.
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
Keeping school buildings and outdoor areas clean, tidy and presentable.
Undertaking cleaning duties when required.
Identifying faults and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site.
Helping provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on the premises.
Working Hours & Pay
Location:
Blaenau Gwent, South Wales.
Start date:
2nd November.
Hours:
6:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-5:30pm.
Working pattern:
Full-time, split shifts.
Pay: £15-£18 per hour, based on experience.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in caretaking, facilities or general maintenance.
Practical abilities and confidence undertaking minor repairs.
A reliable, proactive and hardworking attitude.
The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
A strong commitment to health, safety and site security.
Experience in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
