Salary: Salary and grade £40,777 to £45,091 pro rata, per annum (Grade
9)

Contract Type: Temporary until 31/08/27 (with the possibility of extension)

Hours: 37 hours per week / Term Time 41 weeks per year

Location: Various Schools throughout Neath Port Talbot

Workstyle: Work from a fixed workplace in a different school each day.

Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and financially experienced individual to join our team as a Primary School Bursar. This role is part of the School's Senior Management Team and involves ensuring the smooth running of operations and management of finances for a group of schools. Responsibilities include managing budgets, grant expenditure, procurement, staff, facilities, and Health & Safety support.

Main Duties
  • Preparing, managing and monitoring school budgets
  • Overseeing and tracking grant expenditure
  • Oversee procurement, contracts, and resource allocation
  • Manage school support staff, including recruitment
  • Assist with the management of building facilities
  • Contribute to Health and Safety management
Experience and Qualifications
  • Financial management experience
  • Leadership or senior management experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grades A–C) or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics
  • A relevant financial or business qualification
Additional Requirements
  • Welsh language skills are not required
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure and rigorous safer recruitment assessment are required
