Mince Room Operative | ABP

ABP UK is a major division of the ABP Food Group with factories in Ireland, UK and Europe. We are a food business that specialises in the supply and development of award-winning British and Irish beef and lamb products for retail, food service and wholesale.

Working in a chilled environment, the mince room operator will ensure that targets are met and are regularly challenged and improved on. Delivering high standards of quality, ensuring product produced is to customer specification in line with critical control points, GMP and health and safety requirements. Paying special regard to

• quality, cost control, yield and utilization
• health, safety and ethics
• product integrity
• labelling
• company, personal and food hygiene rules and legislation

• produce required products meeting company and customer standards to planned volume and schedule
• ensure necessary replenishment requirements ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and allergen handling processes
• follow traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times
• drive necessary line efficiency through consistent and correct machine operation
• keep and maintain appropriate records as required
• ensure own familiarity with company policies and procedures, standards of operation and safe operating procedures
• ensure consistent and timely attendance
• provide flexibility to meet company operating requirements
• provide pro-active and re-active verbal and written communication to team members, supervisors and managers
• ensure all produces are sourced and manufactured to the food safety and brand integrity requirements defined by our customers and BRC standards

• speaking, writing and understanding basic spoken and written English language (essential health and safety, traceability and quality control requirement)
• basic numeracy skills
• quickly, cleanly and efficiently processing products in mince room production team
• flexible, adaptable and keen to learn
• learning and implementing new information quickly
