Production / Machine Operative

Rate: £17.64/hour. Weekly pay. 12 weeks temp-to-perm contract.

Shifts:
Days and nights rotation including weekends. ( 5 on 2 off, 2 on 5 off)

A Fantastic Opportunity has arisen to join a Manufacturing Client based in Port Talbot.

This Client is a Leading light in its field and truly values its Workforce.

They are now looking for a Pulper Operative to join their team with the view of a temp to permanent contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating the Pulper Machine:
    The operator starts, stops, and monitors the pulper machine, adjusting settings to ensure the slurry produced meets specifications. They are responsible for loading raw materials, such as paper or cardboard, into the machine.
  • Maintaining Equipment:
    Regular maintenance is crucial. Operators inspect the pulper for wear and tear, lubricate moving parts, and replace any damaged components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitoring the Pulping Process:
    Operators check the consistency, temperature, and flow of the slurry to ensure it meets quality standards. They may also record production data and report any deviations from expected parameters.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    Ensuring safety protocols are followed is a critical part of the job. Operators must adhere to environmental health and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Skills and Qualifications

Experience working in a production environment.

Technical

Skills:

Familiarity with machinery operation and maintenance is essential. Operators should be able to troubleshoot issues that arise during the pulping process.

Attention to Detail:
Monitoring the quality of the pulp and ensuring that all processes are running smoothly requires a keen eye for detail.

Physical Stamina:
The job may involve lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods, so physical fitness is important.
