Join our Academic Marketing department as a Senior Brand Communications Executive and play a key role in championing our brand, advancing our open research mission, and delivering inspiring, multi‑channel communications that elevate our global reputation.
About the roleAs a Senior Brand Communications Executive, you will plan, create and deliver compelling communications across a diverse portfolio of initiatives, products and services. This includes producing engaging content across our brand channels: social platforms, video, webinars, podcasts and new stories.
You will work on high-impact brand campaigns that support our transition to open research as well as executing communication to our journal publishing partners and external editors.
This role collaborates closely with multiple stakeholders within the Academic team (e.g. editorial, marketing, sales) and the wider organisation.
Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:
- Delivering effective communications for open research to build our position and reputation.
- Planning and executing communications for a range of products, platforms and services.
- Producing guides, resources and updates for partners, editors and key stakeholders.
- Leading on campaigns for industry events, awareness days and festivals.
- Using social media, video, podcasts and other channels to enhance brand visibility.
- Monitoring communication and campaign performance using analytics tools and reporting on KPIs and outcomes.
- Managing relationships with agencies, external stakeholders and authors.
- Supporting brand governance by providing guidance on best practice branding.
This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. You are a proactive communicator with creativity, strategic thinking and a passion for elevating brand presence in the academic and research space. You bring experience planning and delivering campaigns, managing stakeholders, and producing high-impact content across multiple channels. To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following minimum essential requirements:
- Relevant marketing and/or communications experience delivering multichannel campaigns and new projects.
- Experience in digital marketing, including Google Analytics, SEO and social media tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong copywriting and editing ability.
- Strong analytic and creative skills, paired with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Confidence engaging stakeholders and collaborating across multiple teams.
