As a Research and Development (R&D) Technician you will be responsible for laboratory testing and design qualification towards product changes and new product launches. You will support projects related to Cost, Quality, and Supply challenges. You will operate within the Global R&D organization and be part of the CQS R&D team at the Rassau site.
Responsibilities- Operate in a safe manner within R&D laboratory and throughout Rassau site
- Undertake routine and non-routine laboratory testing
- Operate laboratory equipment responsibly and accurately
- Perform product performance testing
- Conform to and create written test method SOPs and specifications
- Responsible for completing R&D reporting documentation, including written project reports
- Liaise with on-site and virtual cross-functional teams as needed; communication via Teams calls and E-mail
- Ensure housekeeping of the R&D laboratory meets acceptable levels
- Maintain R&D laboratory inventories to a high and accurate standard
- Carry out any other duties in line with the position as and when required
This can be an external environment duty and requires physical capability.
Preferred/Desirable Skills And Experience- Experience in laboratory environment and blending aqueous based formulas
- Curious, with interest in science applications
- Flexible and accepting of changeable priorities
- Personable, able and willing to verbally communicate widely
- Possess a positive and proactive approach
- Committed to working safely at all times
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Applications, inc. Excel and Outlook)
- Experience in formulation chemistry, raw materials, surfactants, and the ability to use this knowledge to develop innovative, cost-effective products.
- Experience leading chemical research, preferably related to consumer product or formulation development projects. This includes designing and developing formulas/products, developing test plans, analyzing data, and determining next steps in a development program
- Ability to lead projects from fundamentals through scale up and implementation.
