Bethel - Part Time Youth Project Workers

Salary: GBP 1,419.00 – 1,543.00 per year

Position: 3 hours per week for 30 weeks (September–March). Part‑time. Funded by Llanddeiniolen Council.

Job Description
  • Lead and present projects and activities for young people within their communities.
  • Ensure young people feel safe, supported and empowered to oppose harmful influences.
  • Assist the Youth Worker to identify interests and needs of young people to develop sessions, projects and events.
  • Offer a range of learning experiences using informal youth work methods.
  • Support the delivery of accredited courses (Agored Cymru, ASDAN Youth Challenge, Children’s University).
  • Adhere to all relevant policies:
    Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Child Protection.
  • Input and manage information on young people in the information system.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and maintain self‑development.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Data Protection, and Carbon Management Plan.
  • Report any concerns about child or vulnerable adult abuse.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Youth Work (to be completed within 2 years of appointment).
  • Level 1 Child Protection course (desirable).

Experience

  • Experience working with young people.
  • Experience delivering projects/activities for young people.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong face‑to‑face communication skills with young people.
  • Fluency in Welsh and English.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong commitment to Equal Opportunity and Child Protection.
  • Knowledge of current developments in youth work (desirable).

Language Requirements

  • Listening & Speaking – Intermediate – maintain fluent conversation on everyday subjects and discuss field‑related cases in Welsh and English.
  • Reading & Understanding – Intermediate – comprehend everyday correspondence and longer reports in Welsh.
  • Writing – Intermediate – write letters, e‑mails and short reports in Welsh and English, subject to review.

  • Occasional car use with a full driving licence.
