Pay rate - £13.45 per hour

22 hours per week (2 nights)

You’ll be supporting a gentleman in his family home in Penlan area.

D has cerebral palsy and well managed epilepsy and is supported by his parents during the day time hours and attends day centre to engage with his peers. D likes to listen to music, and quiz shows on TV together with watching the sensory lights on his ceiling. You will know if D is happy as he will interact with you with vocal sounds and smile.

We are looking for a female member of staff to work alongside the family providing overnight comfort and reassurance while observing D with his epilepsy. The role calls for someone with empathy, resilience and a positive approach creating a calm, supportive environment where D feels safe, understood and valued every day. An awareness of how to support someone with epilepsy would be advantage to maintain D comfort at night, respond to and document any seizure activity he may experience and to give reassurance where needed

No experience with personal care or administration of medication is required for this role as this is provided by his parents.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be compassionate, dependable and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference. While experience in social care is helpful, what matters most is your values, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to supporting D throughout the night.

You’ll bring a thoughtful understanding of his complexities of profound health and learning disabilities and epilepsy, along with a calm, patient approach to supporting

D. Your empathy will help create a reassuring, grounded environment where D will feel safe, respected and understood in his own home.

Communication skills are essential to be confident in building trusting relationships with D and his family and become part of D’s wider support network.

Above all, you’ll bring kindness, positivity and respect to every interaction with D and his family, helping to create a supportive environment.
