Position: Social Worker Supported Care Planning

Social Worker – Children & Families | Penderry CP Team Swansea Council | Guildhall, Swansea £38.43 per hour Umbrella | £30.50 per hour PAYE Full-time | Hybrid working

Hoop Social Work are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Penderry Children’s Protection (CP) Team within Swansea Council.

Based at Guildhall, Swansea (SA1 4PE
), this is an excellent opportunity for a Social Worker with experience in statutory children and families work to join an established team supporting children and families across the Penderry area.

The team works using the Signs of Safety methodology, with a strong focus on strengths-based practice, partnership working and achieving positive outcomes for children.

The Role
  • Work directly with children, young people and families to assess their needs, circumstances and strengths.
  • Undertake assessments and develop effective care and support plans in partnership with children, families and other professionals.
  • Use the Signs of Safety approach to inform your social work practice and decision-making.
  • Assess and manage risk, taking appropriate action to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries, assessments and statutory visits, including visits to children and families in their homes.
  • Work within the Public Law Outline (PLO) and Court arena, where required.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and other professionals to ensure children and families receive the right support.
  • Ensure the voice, wishes and feelings of children and families are central to your practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports in line with statutory requirements.
  • Manage your own caseload and be accountable for your social work practice, with appropriate supervision and support.
Working Arrangements

The current working pattern requires office attendance at Guildhall, Swansea on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Friday is a team lock-down day, meaning the whole team is expected to be in the office. The remaining working arrangements offer a degree of hybrid flexibility in line with the team's requirements.

Requirements
  • A relevant Social Work qualification
  • Current registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England
  • An Enhanced DBS, registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
  • A minimum of 3 years' referencing history
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Experience of statutory children's social work, including child protection, assessments and safeguarding work
  • Given the statutory nature of this position, only applicants who hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current professional registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England can be considered.
