Support Worker, Mental Health

We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, and warm Support Worker to join our committed team at our mental health service in South Manchester. Our service supports adults aged 18-35 to develop their skills and knowledge so that they can go on to live more independently in the community. Our Support Workers help people to:
• Identify areas for support & devise individual plans
• Understand their tenancy responsibilities
• Manage any tenancy related issues
• Live alongside and accept differences in others
• Develop their self-awareness and skills
• Reflect on their lives and plan for the future
• Find positive move on in housing and in life
• Improve their social relationships
• Achieve their potential and goals The service is situated in Wythenshawe South Manchester, with good transport links and a range of local amenities close to the service. Bus services and metro links are within a few minutes waking distance. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is interested in an exciting career in mental health, where you are assisted in developing your skills as a support worker through close supervision, corporate training, and working as part of an experienced staff team.

Experience of providing care and support to individuals with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. We value a desire and commitment to work alongside our service users, promoting positive change in their lives and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will be nonjudgemental and able to relate to issues faced by our service users, with strong listening skills, initiative, and a relaxed approach.

You must also be comfortable with both lone working and alongside others.
