Position: Req. #1303 MVS Machine Operator

Req. #1303 MVS Machine Operator – Vermont Precision Tools, Inc.

Full Time – Hourly / Non‑Exempt. 2nd or 3rd Shift (10% shift differential). Overtime may be required.

Work Schedule:

M-F, 3pm–11:30pm or S‑Th, 11:00pm–7:00am. Alternative work hours may be considered.

Wage Rate: $18.00 to $32.05. Starting wage negotiable based on prior knowledge/experience.

Position Summary

As a machine operator you will be responsible for producing precision medical burr blanks within the Medical Value Stream.

Essential Job Functions
  • Setup, operation, and troubleshooting of manual grinding and/or CNC grinding equipment to produce high‑quality precision ground medical burr blanks.
  • Understand basic CNC programming to utilize existing programs for production runs and make modifications as necessary. Perform basic data entry functions.
  • Operate manual tool grinders, disk grinders & centerless grinders.
  • Use measuring equipment to inspect the product and ensure accurate diameter tolerances.
  • Handle plate and final straightening processes.
  • Monitor part conformance and adjust manufacturing equipment based on blueprint specifications or work order instructions.
  • Maintain established production levels for all operations performed.
  • Maintain quality production in accordance with company standards.
  • Remake and/or rework product that does not meet required specifications.
  • Input basic data entries using internal computer program daily.
  • Follow all company policies, ergonomic standards, and safety.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school education required or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical functions in fractions, decimals, metrics, conversions, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Mechanically inclined, preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; operate in a Windows and non‑Windows format.
  • Regular and on‑time attendance required. Be at work on time when scheduled and remain for the entire work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as required. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.
