Cost Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our team in Sweetwater, Texas! We are looking for someone who will be able to perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and support operational and financial decision making by ensuring accurate cost related data.

• Maintain and analyze standard costs and actual manufacturing costs
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate reporting of inventory valuation.
• Conduct regular audits to assess and maintain the effectiveness of quality systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and GAAP standards.
• Participate in financial and ISO audits and provide necessary documentation and analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
• Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and engineering to track production costs and improve cost efficiencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Requires a strong understanding of quality management systems and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in ERP systems preferred and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail

• Bachelor degree or greater in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred
• At least (2) two years of experience in cost accounting required

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
