Packages, labels, and prices bakery products. Maintains stock levels and product quality by monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods.
- Assists bakery personnel with preparing, packaging, labeling, and maintaining product displays.
- Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
- Stacks pallets and sorts product into correct locations according to Company efficiency standards.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by following safety procedures.
- Provides friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment (e.g., bread slicer, commercial oven).
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place warnings as soon as possible; report hazards to a supervisor when needed.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business per the Business Driver Policy.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Typically involves on-the-job training.
- Continuously required to use close and distance vision, depth perception, and focusing ability.
- Continuously required to stand or walk; use hands for reaching, touching, or handling; talk and hear.
- Frequently required to perform finger or hand movements; bend, kneel, squat, or stoop.
- Frequently required to lift up to 40 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Attendance at work is required.
- Retail store environment.
- Frequently exposed to hot surfaces, extreme temperatures (non-weather), wet or damp conditions.
- Exposure to equipment with sharp blades or edges and cleaning agents.
- Quiet to moderate noise level.
