Portfolio Officer - Swindon Summary We’re looking for a Portfolio Officer to join our Planning & Programmes Team to help support, coordinate and enable delivery across the National Trust’s Financial Growth Portfolio. Working at the heart of a portfolio of change, you'll support planning, governance, reporting and coordination activities that help leaders make informed decisions and ensure initiatives remain connected and aligned.

What it's like to work here You'll work as part of the Financial Growth Portfolio, supporting strategic delivery and reporting to the Head of Planning & Programmes. This role sits at the centre of a broad network of colleagues from across the Trust, including initiative leads, sponsors, planning professionals, specialist functions and governance groups. You'll help ensure that portfolio information is coordinated effectively and that leaders have access to the information they need to support decision-making.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail t you'll be doing You'll help ensure that the Financial Growth Portfolio operates efficiently and effectively by supporting portfolio planning, governance, reporting and coordination activities.

You'll assist with the production of reports, papers and presentations, helping turn information into accessible and meaningful outputs for a variety of audiences. You'll also support the maintenance of portfolio plans, reporting tools and information systems, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date. Collaboration is a key part of the role. You'll work across teams and organisational boundaries, helping connect activity, coordinate communications and support the smooth running of portfolio processes.

Who we're looking for You’ll bring a broad range of the following knowledge, skills and experience, shaped by different roles, sectors or career paths, and the judgment to apply them effectively at scale;

Experience of providing administrative, project, programme, portfolio or business support in a complex organisation. Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work with data and information and present it clearly and accurately. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience of building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools.
