Key Responsibilities and Impact
As a Production Apprentice, you’ll:
- Listen to new music submissions in the uploader
- Script‑write
- Audio‑edit
- Assist with live radio shows in the studio
- Help at events & gigs
- Possibly work remotely on another Introducing show or assist at your local BBC radio station
You’ll learn both on‑the‑job and through learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider, working toward a Level 3 Production Assistant qualification.
Your Skills and EligibilityWe’re not focused on qualifications; we look for potential and transferable strengths.
Skills- Passionate about music and radio within the scene you’re applying to
- Regular gig‑goer and active in your local music scene
- Creative, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
- Interested in supporting emerging artists and contributing to music discovery
- Available to work evenings and some weekends
This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates
.
- Be 18 years old or over by September 2026
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
- Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme
- No prior learning is required to apply
For candidates under 19 on 8 September 2026: you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) by the start of the apprenticeship. If not, you will need to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of the apprenticeship.

Relocation support is offered to a limited number of apprentices each year and would be considered for this position, subject to meeting the qualifying criteria.
