Your

Key Responsibilities and Impact

As a Production Apprentice, you’ll:

• Listen to new music submissions in the uploader
• Script‑write
• Audio‑edit
• Assist with live radio shows in the studio
• Help at events & gigs
• Possibly work remotely on another Introducing show or assist at your local BBC radio station

You’ll learn both on‑the‑job and through learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our learning provider, working toward a Level 3 Production Assistant qualification.

Skills

• Passionate about music and radio within the scene you’re applying to
• Regular gig‑goer and active in your local music scene
• Creative, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
• Interested in supporting emerging artists and contributing to music discovery
• Available to work evenings and some weekends

Eligibility Criteria

• Be 18 years old or over by September 2026
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
• Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
• Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme
• No prior learning is required to apply

For candidates under 19 on 8 September 2026: you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) by the start of the apprenticeship. If not, you will need to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of the apprenticeship.
