Special needs teaching assistant

Smile Education is seeking a dedicated and confident Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded Wolverhampton school from January, working on a full-time basis.

Confidently support students with a range of Special Educational Needs.
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
Fully immerse themselves in school life, contributing to a supportive, uplifting learning environment.
Bring a positive, proactive attitude to enhance pupils’ learning and overall school experience.

Educates pupils from Early Years through to Key Stage 2.
Classes are grouped by ability rather than age, meaning groups will be mixed-age.
Strong relationships with parents and carers, creating a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have:

A relevant qualification related to working with children or supporting learning.
UK-based school experience, with a reference that specifically comments on your interaction with children.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education.
Confidence, resilience, and a passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
