We are seeking an SEL Specialist/Teacher for our Reynolds Arthur Academy campus in Troutdale, OR for the  School Year.

Arthur Academy’s Social and Emotional Learning Specialist is a licensed educator who can provide support for the social and emotional needs of the school community.

• Daily classroom push-in during SEL lessons to co-teach/help teach SEL lessons
• Work with the teacher and admin to facilitate behavior plans for certain students
• Facilitate SEL groups such as "friendship" groups
• Internal substitute on some days
• Remain current on best practices in social and emotional learning and learning differences
• Consult with principals and staff concerning social emotional learning needs of students
• Provide guidance on designing social emotional learning integration into the school
• Provide professional development to support the social emotional learning curriculum and instruction by using best practices, including research on learning theory and content standards
• Support the integration of school-wide social and emotional learning education throughout school
• Provide technical support and modeling of social and emotional learning lessons to whole classes and small groups in accordance with curriculum
• Attend meetings, training workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence
• Act as student support for students needing behavioral and emotional assistance
• Tailor and/or create lesson plans to fit classroom specific needs

The Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist will play an essential role in implementing SEL strategies to ensure a positive school climate that supports students’ social and emotional needs. As a specialist, you will provide direct support to school leaders, teachers, staff and students on social-emotional learning, including standards, curriculum, assessment, and professional development. You will work to ensure that SEL is integrated into instruction and daily practices aligned with Arthur Academy’s framework.
