RSU 40 is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to join our dedicated Special Services team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social growth of our students through assessment, collaboration, and intervention.
What You’ll Do- Conduct comprehensive psycho educational assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for services.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to develop individualized supports and evidence-based interventions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans.
- Support student mental health, behavioral interventions, and positive school climate initiatives.
- Provide consultation, training, and crisis response services to staff and students.
- Help shape a district wide culture that values inclusion, safety, and student well-being.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Valid Maine School Psychologist certification/license and CHRC (Criminal History Record Check)
- Strong understanding of special education law (IDEA, Section 504) and the IEP process
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills
- Experience with psycho educational testing, behavioral supports, and evidence‑based interventions
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism
- Supportive leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Routine peer support with other school psychologists
