Tennis Trainer and Activity Leader at Language Immersion Summer Camp

Overview

Alpadia Language Schools from Kaplan International Languages offers all-year round schools in Montreux, Berlin, Freiburg and Lyon, teaching French and German. Alpadia also provides English, French and German summer courses for juniors and teens in Europe and North America. Established in 1996, our mission is to encourage language development through immersion and to expand the horizons of our students.

Activity Leader – Tennis Trainer and Language Immersion Specialist (summer camp)

As a full-time, seasonal staff member, you will act as tennis trainer and language immersion guide for 13–17-year-old students, delivering fun and engaging activities and excursions, ensuring a meaningful, adventurous camp experience with a focus on learning and personal growth. You will work with other Activity Leaders and Teachers, assist with day-to-day camp operations such as attendance checks, wake-ups and bedtimes, and lead camp-wide Evening Programs.

• Deliver fun and engaging activities and excursions to international students in line with Alpadia’s language immersion approach.
• Act as Tennis Trainer, coaching tennis in a professional capacity.
• Support students’ social, emotional and cultural development.
• Design and guide excursions with 20–40 participants; facilitate diverse activities.
• Contribute to child safeguarding and risk management; maintain safety standards.
• Help with day-to-day camp operations (attendance, wake-ups, bedtimes, Evening Programs).
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide a high-quality camp experience.

Essential Criteria

• Experience coaching tennis in a professional capacity
• Experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity
• Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum)
• Fluency in English
• High physical, mental and emotional resilience
• Experience in meaningful, professional teamwork
• High energy level, excitement and comfort speaking in front of large groups
• Availability for 5 weeks of the summer (June 27 - August
  2)

Desired Criteria

• Fluency in German and English
• Experience in outdoor education or summer camps
• Driver’s License, and ability to drive a minivan

• A weekly summer salary of 500-700 CHF, depending on experience
• 2 days of pre-summer staff training on language immersion, child development, outdoor facilitation and solution-focused, positive behavior support and conflict resolution techniques
• Full Room and Board during the entirety of the summer

• All staff employed will be required to provide/ undergo an Enhanced DBS/Criminal Record check (and provide overseas conduct certificates where applicable) and 3 professional references
