JOB GOAL

To build K-3 teacher capacity to ensure scholar success in English Language Arts through coaching and ensuring Tier 1, First Best Instruction (FBI) occurs daily. Utilize District approved resources and ESSA approved interventions that are aligned to the school and district Literacy Plan. - Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience with exemplary evaluations
  • Hold a valid Reading Endorsement or Valid K-5 Literacy Endorsement
  • Dyslexia Training Designee Certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
  • Familiarity with Move On When Reading (MOWR) legislation or a commitment to acquiring proficiency.
  • Expertise in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for literacy intervention.
  • Proficiency in 21st-century instructional technology or a willingness to develop such skills.
  • Demonstrated success in early literacy instruction, supported by principal evaluations and student achievement data.
  • Deep understanding of the Arizona Academic Standards and research-based instructional materials for English Language Arts.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a professional learning community.
  • Strong foundation in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, with a focus on their interconnectivity to maximize student achievement.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including English Language Learners (ELL), Special Education, and Gifted students.
  • Ability to foster strong partnerships with district leaders, school administrators, and instructional teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high expectations for student learning, professional excellence, and collaborative growth.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development in evidence-based literacy instruction, curriculum, and assessment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Application of adult learning theory to support teacher growth and instructional leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in research-based best practices in language arts, including Scientifically Based Reading Research (SBRR) and Scientifically Based Reading Instruction (SBRI) for K-3 students.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core reading programs, supplemental resources, and targeted intervention programs, serving as a guide for K-3 educators.
  • Proficiency in assessment platforms such as AIMSWeb Plus and ATT assessment software.
  • Other qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Governing Board.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Supports site and district administration in the implementation of professional development initiatives by leading grade-level meetings, site-based training, and staff collaboration.
  • Serves as an integral member of the K-3 Literacy Team, actively contributing to literacy planning and instructional decision-making.
  • Delivers targeted Tier II and Tier III reading interventions to support student learning.
  • Collaborates with the K-3 Literacy Team to enhance literacy outcomes across the school.
  • Provides regular updates to school leadership and Educational Services regarding K-3 student progress, including deficiency letters, individual learning plans, and progress monitoring data.
  • Manages and updates K-3 data walls in alignment with school and district expectations.
  • Ensures timely distribution of Move On When Reading deficiency letters.
  • Engages in ongoing collaboration with administrators and MOWR district specialists to assess and refine K-3 literacy strategies and instruction.
  • Actively participates in district and site-based professional development
