Your primary responsibility is to monitor and control the gas turbine power plant systems from the control room, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. You will identify and respond to operational disturbances, initiate corrective actions, and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to maintain plant availability and performance.
Your tasks- Monitor and operate power plant equipment and systems using the Emerson Ovation control system;
- Perform plant start-up, shutdown, and load adjustment procedures;
- Identify, analyze, and respond to alarms, faults, and operational disturbances;
- Perform and document switching operations in accordance with safety procedures;
- Support emergency response activities during abnormal operating conditions;
- Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Engineering, and external service providers;
- Maintain shift logs, operational records, and incident reports;
- Conduct plant inspections and verify equipment conditions in the field;
- Support maintenance activities, outages, overhauls, and recommissioning;
- Ensure effective shift handovers and compliance with plant procedures and safety regulations.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical qualification;
- Strong technical understanding of power generation or industrial process systems;
- Several years of experience in the operation of power plants, industrial plants, or process facilities is preferred, experience in the power generation industry is considered a strong advantage;
- Minimum one year of experience in commissioning activities;
- Ability to remain calm and take decisions under pressure;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities;
- Well-organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate activities efficiently;
- Open-minded team player with a proactive attitude;
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 30% of working time;
- Excellent command of English;
German is considered an advantage.
