Aerospace Structural Engineer

DMD Solutions is a consulting company specialized in aerospace design and RAMS engineering, offering project outsourcing and engineering tool development. Our clients are manufacturers and maintainers of aeronautical products located in Europe. We help them achieve their engineering quality goals with a focus on certification. As part of our expansion plan, we are hiring a Senior Structural Engineer, on-site position at our client premises in Switzerlad.

Do you have a solid background in aeronautics and want to work on innovative projects? If so, we want you to be part of our team! As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in helping the team in the certification process of the design.

• Prepare, check and approve dispositions for structural deviations on the aircraft including the substantiation by classical analysis and using existing finite element models
• Prepare and check technical memos, certification engineering reports, production instructions and acceptance criteria for process specifications and approve drawing and parts list changes related to corrective actions, structural changes, improvements and further developments on the aircraft
• Structural analysis – Classical static stress analysis and finite element analysis of primarily metallic and some composite airframe structure in both a development and certification-oriented environment
• Preparation of formal engineering analysis reports, participation to test plans and test reports
• Cross functional analytical support, internal liaison and potential for direct liaison/support with external supplier companies and the airworthiness authorities

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with focus on aircraft structures, or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years working experience as structural engineer on primary and secondary structures in the Aerospace Sector
• Solid experience in deploying classical hand calculation methodologies and utilizing industry standard reference sources
• Familiarity with NASTRAN (MSC/NX), FEMAP or similar finite element package
• Knowledge of composite analysis methodologies would be advantageous
• Flexible, innovative and able to work on tight deadlines and changing priorities
• Knowledge of the German language would be an advantage
