We are currently growing our team of Artisans with a Process Modeling Specialist s role will be based remotely out of the United States
. This role is responsible for a semi-dedicated customer to ensure treatment chemicals and equipment are used effectively, economically, and safely in Refineries, Petrochemical, and terminals while exemplifying RTI’s Mission and Core Behaviors.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Modeling Specialist to join our team. This specialist will utilize advanced modeling techniques to predict and analyze corrosion and fouling phenomena within refinery environments. This role requires a deep understanding of corrosion and fouling mechanisms specific to refinery operations, material science, and computational modeling to support the development and implementation of effective corrosion/fouling management and prevention strategies.
Work with a multidisciplinary team alongside Materials and Corrosion SME to deliver simplistic model and accurate predictions to our clients.
- Develop and apply computational models to predict corrosion/fouling behavior in refinery equipment and piping.
- Understand various chemical injections, reactions, and configurations to produce accurate models that mimic realistic field conditions.
- Analyze and interpret data from corrosion/fouling experiments, field data, and simulations to inform maintenance and prevention strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on refinery-specific corrosion/fouling issues to internal teams and external clients.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations on corrosion/fouling modeling findings and recommendations.
- Stay current with advancements in corrosion science, modeling techniques, and industry standards relevant to refinery operations.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, methodologies, and technologies to enhance corrosion/fouling prediction and management within refinery settings.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and team members on corrosion/fouling modeling techniques and best practices relevant to the refinery industry.
- Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited school in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corrosion modeling for refinery, petro chemical plant, or similar industrial environment.
- Proficiency in computational modeling software and tools in the field of process modeling and corrosion modeling.
- Strong understanding of refinery processes, damage mechanisms, and material selection.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional certifications in corrosion engineering (e.g., NACE, AMPP).
