Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Robotics & Industrial Automation Project Engineer to drive the deployment of robotic systems in our gas‑insulated switch gear & power electronic drive factory. You will be responsible for: identifying, designing, and implementing robotics that improve productivity, quality, and safety, while enabling scalability across other similar factories; acting as the primary interface between factory operations and digital technology teams (IT/OT), ensuring seamless integration of robotics within our digital ecosystem (including SAP, MES, Windchill, and related platforms).
Responsibilities- Analyze manual manufacturing processes in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to proactively identify automation, robotization opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate the planning, execution, and delivery of robotics—from concept and business case through design, testing, commissioning, and handover—working with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, maintenance, safety, quality) and external vendors/integrators.
- Act as the primary interface between operational teams and IT/digital stakeholders to align business needs and technical requirements, ensuring robust integration of robotics and automation with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, MES, Windchill).
- Validate end‑to‑end data flow and system compatibility, including master data, production orders, traceability, and real‑time data capture and usage.
- Support network infrastructure planning, cybersecurity compliance, and overall digital architecture design to enable secure, scalable deployment of robotic solutions.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the factory’s robotics, automation, and digitalization roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader business and technology strategies.
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of test and control concepts for gas‑insulated high‑voltage switch gear and associated drives to ensure robust quality control and quality assurance.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics) or any related field for Robotics. - Experience:
Proven experience in successfully delivering Robotics & Automation projects in manufacturing environments. - Languages:
Strong communication skills in English, and intermediate level knowledge of German language. - Skills:
Programming sophisticated PLC programs (for example: Siemens TIA Portal, Omron SYSMAC Studio).
