Technology & Patent Manager (Industrial Networks & IIoT)
At Endress+Hauser Digital Solutions, we seek a Technology & Patent Manager to drive global innovation in digital transformation for industrial process industries.
Role OverviewLead evaluation of technology trends, craft strategies, and provide guidance for digitalization of process plants based on Ethernet fieldbus technologies and IIoT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate technological trends and their industrial applications to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop actionable strategies and specifications for implementation.
- Provide technology consulting for digitization and IIoT with focus on customer requirements in process industries.
- Support development and sales activities, and offer training as an expert on utilized systems and technologies.
- Moderate working groups to harmonize internal standards, guidelines, and specifications.
- Represent Endress+Hauser in international standard development organizations and committees.
- Manage and maintain the patent portfolio of Digital Solutions in collaboration with the Group’s patent office.
- Coordinate third‑party patent assessments and support patent checks in product launch clearance.
- Organize patent training and idea workshops to foster creation of intentions and patent applications.
- Degree in engineering, preferably with practical experience in product/technology management for industrial process automation.
- At least 7 years of professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of fieldbus technologies and field device integration in process industries; understanding of plant lifecycle workflows (planning, commissioning, maintenance) is ideal.
- Experience with intellectual property, ideally in patent processes, portfolio management, or collaboration with patent offices.
- Ability to translate technology trends into strategic direction and actionable concepts for digitalization and IIoT.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience moderating interdisciplinary or international working groups.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to travel internationally (~10% of the time).
