We are looking for a research scientist with expertise in modelling and simulation of complex physical phenomena to join our Research Center in Baden/Switzerland. In an interdisciplinary environment, you will drive cutting‑edge innovation and develop new solutions to improve the performance and reliability of power grid devices, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and power semiconductors. • You innovate: Drive the translation of innovative ideas into new power grid device features through physical modeling, scientific programming, and advanced data analysis.
• You investigate: Elaborate and implement new models to improve the understanding of physical phenomena, such as electromagnetic, fluid‑dynamics, mechanical and nonlinear material behavior.
• You take initiative: Collaborate with a global and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers across research and business units to identify, shape, and solve impactful industrial challenges.
• You collaborate: Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities and vendors.
• You communicate: Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.

• PhD in physics with strong theoretical background or in applied mathematics.
• Proven expertise in collaborative software development, visualization, and working with large code bases.
• Practical experience with usage of simulation software and tools for engineering problems.
• Proven track record at top scientific conferences and journal publications.
• Excellent communication skills in English, team‑player attitude, initiative and creativity.
