Sol-M Swiss R&D Center | Full-time | On-site 4 days/week Develop your engineering career in an international medical device R&D team
We are looking for a motivated R&D Engineer to join our team in Morbio Inferiore (Canton Ticino), at the heart of our Swiss innovation Centre. You will work closely with colleagues in Switzerland and Shanghai, supporting Solid Works design, technical documentation and product data management. Over time, you will have opportunities to contribute to prototyping, product development and other R&D initiatives.

What you will do- Creating, converting and maintaining 2D and 3D CAD files in Solid Works (parametric modelling) of Medical Device Products.
- Organizing and updating the technical drawing archive and all related documentation.
- Supporting the implementation product data management (PDM) system linking our Switzerland and Shanghai teams.
- Collaborate with R&D engineers on development projects and engineering change requests.
- Prepare CAD models for 3D printing and support the evaluation of physical prototypes.
- Help organize technical knowledge and engineering information using digital and AI-supported tools.
- Support patent-related activities, including prior art research and coordination with our IP partners.
- Support the team with fresh ideas for product improvements and new design solutions.
- Degree, diploma or practical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Solid Works (2D and 3D).
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Structured, precise and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural team environment.
- Familiarity with 3D printing, injection moulding, plastics processing or medical device development.
- Experience from internships, university projects, personal projects, or professional work.
Previous experience in the medical device industry is not required. We will support you in learning the relevant standards, processes and documentation requirements.
