Position: Metallic Test & Surface Treatment Engineer

Contract: Permanent contract, full-time position

Key Responsibilities
  • metallic materials, especially steel, aluminum, and titanium
  • fatigue behavior of metallic materials, including theory, influencing factors, testing, and crack types
  • testing campaigns on metallic coupons
  • technical documentation, test procedures, and test reports
  • aeronautical standards, processes and materials qualification
  • manufacturing processes such as forming, machining, and milling
  • assembly practices using screws, rivets, and bolts, joints, and lubricants
  • surface treatments such as anodizing, galvanizing, chemical conversion, corrosion protection, and electrochemical treatments
  • heat treatments and their effects on microstructure
  • coordination of material investigations, including failure cases related to materials and processes
  • allowables for raw materials and treatments
Our Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • Degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in materials engineering, preferably within aerospace or other regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of metallic materials and their mechanical behavior, especially fatigue and fracture
  • Experience with material testing, data analysis, and interpretation of results
  • Familiarity with aeronautical standards and material qualification processes
  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes for metallic structures
  • Knowledge of surface and heat treatments and their industrial applications
  • Ability to manage multiple activities, work autonomously, and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English;
    German is a plus.
