Job Description Summary
For our Manufacturing Engineering department within the Repair area, we are looking for an Engineering Manager (m/f/d) to lead the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting Repair operations. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Department Manager, One Birr Manufacturing, this role is responsible for ensuring that the technical documentation, equipment, and tooling required for the repair and production of gas turbine hot gas path (HGP) and combustor components are available on time and meet quality standards.
As a member of the leadership team, the Engineering Manager will drive operational excellence, foster continuous improvement, and support the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets across the Repair organization.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team responsible for repair parts and processes for
gas turbine hot gas path (HGP) and combustor components
. - Ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective execution of work in line with delivery, productivity, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure tooling, programs, and technical documentation are released and available to support on-time production start.
- Drive a strong LEAN culture and actively lead Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee development projects, process improvements, and new product introductions (NPI).
- Manage Cap Ex projects, evaluate new production technologies, and support FMEA, cost-benefit analysis, and NCR resolution in cooperation with Quality and Production.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Gas Turbine Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, repair processes, or engineering for
gas turbine hot gas path (HGP) and combustor components
is preferred. - Initial or proven leadership experience with strong decision-making and communication skills with a structured working approach.
- Good German and English language skills are a must.
- Experience with LEAN methodologies;
Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an advantage. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a structured
