LabDevelopment Engineer
Our team in Haag, Switzerland is looking for a Lab Development Engineer within the R&D environment. You will be responsible for developing and executing advanced testing and measurement methods for innovative product segments, working closely with an incubator business unit and cross‑functional development teams. You will contribute to experimental design, data analysis, laboratory infrastructure, and the continuous improvement of testing capabilities in cutting‑edge technology areas.

- Develop and implement new testing and measurement methods for innovative product segments in collaboration with an incubator business unit.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments in technology and product development projects.
- Build systematic know‑how in new technologies and application areas.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional development teams and provide metrology expertise.
- Execute complex, customer‑ and project‑specific tests beyond standard production capabilities.
- Analyze root causes of product failures and support resolution of customer complaints.
- Ensure operational readiness and continuously improve laboratory equipment and infrastructure.
- Develop and improve data processing and analysis workflows for automated evaluation, reporting, and visualization.
- Contribute to standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of laboratory processes, test procedures, documentation, and best practices.
- PhD (highly preferred) or Master’s degree in Applied Physics, Vacuum Technology, Measurement Engineering, or closely related fields.
- Strong theoretical and hands‑on knowledge of vacuum technology, measurement methods, and vacuum sensor applications.
- Proven laboratory experience in building, executing, and analyzing complex experimental setups and measurement systems.
- Experience in system development and integration (sensors, actuators, control systems).
- Background in the semiconductor industry is an advantage.
- Ability to translate innovative concepts into testable and measurable requirements.
- Background in vacuum sensor testing is a strong benefit.
- Strong analytical skills in data interpretation, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and failure investigation.
- Programming skills in Python for automated data processing, evaluation, visualization, and reporting.
- Fluent in English;
German skills are a plus.
