The Position

In Global Customer Support (GCS), we are transforming how we deliver elite technical expertise across our portfolio. As a Support & Training Specialist CHU, you will serve as a core technical anchor within our integrated Coagulation, Hematology, and Urinalysis (CHU) team.

Based in our primary engineering and manufacturing facility in Rotkreuz, you will provide 2nd-level technical support, deliver hands-on training to affiliates and regional centers worldwide, and bridge product care between R&D, Operations, and global field teams. This role operates within Roche’s Organizational Fluidity framework, requiring a dynamic mindset capable of applying deep technical troubleshooting across multi-domain IVD hardware and software platforms.

Opportunity
  • Autonomous 2nd-Level Support:
    Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve multi-system field escalations (hardware, electro-mechanical, and service software) to minimize instrument downtime globally
  • Hands-On Instructional Excellence:
    Design, review, and deliver job-oriented training courses in the Rotkreuz training facilities
  • On-Site Hardware Testing:
    Conduct regular physical testing on lab instruments, collaborating directly with local R&D product care, integration labs, and global business teams
  • Knowledge Transfer & Documentation:
    Author, review, and publish technical service documentation, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer from R&D to global field engineers
  • Cross-Domain Fluidity:
    Actively maintain core technical competence in primary systems (Coagulation) while flexibly supporting cross-portfolio initiatives
  • Ownership &

    Collaboration:

    Contribute to technical projects and team deliverables with high personal reliability, transparent communication, and shared operational accountability.
  • On-site presence:
    Maintain regular physical presence at our Rotkreuz facility to partner directly with R&D product care, Operations, and integration labs, as well as to conduct hands-on testing on physical laboratory assets
  • Mobility:
    Travel might be required according to business needs
Who You Are
  • Education &

    Qualifications:

    Academic degree in Engineering (preferably Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics) or equivalent.
  • Technical

    Experience:

    Practical background in electro-mechanical equipment support, R&D testing, or field service engineering, with demonstrated depth in physical hardware troubleshooting
  • Domain Expertise:
    Applied knowledge or strong familiarity with IVD systems (Coagulation, Urinalysis, or automated diagnostic analyzers) is a distinct advantage.
  • Proactive Ownership:
    Demonstrated ability to contribute to technical projects independently, proactively solve problems, and adhere to established organizational processes.
  • Communication:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, collaborative dialogue across multi-disciplinary teams and global stakeholders.
