Innovation Engineer – Ultra-Trace Lab

Ultra-Pure Water+ division of Ecolab is a global provider of advanced equipment, technology, and systems to produce ultrapure water (UPW). As an Innovation Engineer in the Ultra Trace Lab
, you will support the development of advanced methods, instruments, and automated workflows to detect extremely low concentrations of chemical elements or molecules. Key functions include optimizing high-precision equipment like ICP-MS and LC-MS/MS, reducing background contamination, and translating research prototypes into validated, high-throughput analytical processes.

The role is based in Witterswil, Solothurn (Basel Area), Switzerland, with good public transport connection (Tram 10) and free car parking.

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field
• Proven experience in analytical chemistry
• Experience with liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) is an asset
• Experience in elemental analysis
• Hands-on experience with ICP-MS/MS is a strong asset
• Experience in the quantification of analytes at trace concentrations
• Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
• Experience in method development and validation
• Experience working in an ISO-regulated environment
• Willingness to learn and apply new analytical techniques
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage
• Self-motivated, creative, and able to perform effectively under pressure
• Hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• EU or Swiss citizenship or valid Swiss work permit
