Supervisor: The Microcomputer Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director of Educational Technology as a member of the Technical Services department.
Position SummaryThe Microcomputer Maintenance Technician is a technical support position involving installation, configuration, and problem determination of the district's computers and related technology assets.
Requirements- Strong ability to work with a team of technicians to provide the highest level of customer service to the Webster CSD community.
- Strong knowledge of computer and network technology configuration, support, and implementation best practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with district non-teaching staff, teachers, and administrators.
- Detail and task oriented with ability to stay focused and thrive in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, voice and basic network problems.
- Installation of hardware and software.
- Local travel to district facilities as needed to perform job responsibilities.
- Maintains records of service activities performed.
- Assists with maintaining procedural documentation.
- Assists with updates to a central database of all equipment and parts for inventory management.
- Performs physical inventory.
- Physical movement of technology within the district.
- Performs other tasks associated within the realm of Technical Services.
- Does related work as required and other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Technology.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a certificate or Associate's degree in Microcomputer Maintenance Repair; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in a computer science or information technology field; OR,
- One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in maintenance and repair of microcomputers and related equipment; OR,
- Possession of the following active Industry Standard Certification:
Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+ Certification; OR, - An equivalent combination of education and experience defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
As per current Administrator, Non-WELA contract based on education and experience.
