Salary Range 16 $ 27.42 to $37.58/hour
Salary Range 16 (To be paid at range 17 once bilingual proficiency is verified) $27.42 to $37.58/hour (Range 10: $28.24-$38.68)

The purpose of the Federal Programs/Community Liaison is to support students and families served by Federal Programs including our Newcomer Program, Multilingual Learners, McKinney-Vento, Title Programs, and Foster Care, among others. The Community Liaison will assist families with accessing resources and support for district and community-based referrals, support student engagement, and provide district-level translation and interpretation services. This position will also support staff with data entry and preparation.
Strong communication skills, trauma-informed care, and cultural competency are essential for this position. Spanish-speaking applicants are highly preferred. This is a grant-funded position.
- Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Two years of post-secondary education (72 college quarter hours or more), an Associate's or higher degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Prior job-related experience paid or volunteer with school-age children and families
- Licenses, Certifications, Binding, and/or Testing
Required:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training - Access to a vehicle, Oregon Driver's License, and insurance
- Designated language (listening, speaking, reading, writing)
- Principles of child development and instructional processes
- Office practices and procedures
- Performing basic clerical functions, perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Operating standard office equipment (including the use of specific computer applications)
- The use of English in verbal and written form, use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Ability to gather sensitive and often complex information from students, parents, and professionals while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to interact with people with varying levels of education and from diverse backgrounds-communication is professional, pleasant, and clear
- Effective communication with students, parents, community members, and colleagues
- Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions
- Time management (meeting scheduled deadlines, with or without direct supervision
- Reading, interpreting, and applying rules, regulations, policies
- Rapidly learning methods and materials used in a variety of professional situations
- Provides language support by phone, Google meets, or in-person to schedule meetings, remind parents of appointments, and support parent/staff two-way communication
- Translates written coummunication/s such as emails, notes, letters, newsletters, and basic forms
- Supports staff with gathering information from students, parents, and the community by interpreting when necessary
- Performs data collecting and recordkeeping for the purpose of documenting contacts, and assisting with federal program processes
