Reporting to Supply Planning Manager we are looking to recruit our new buyer in Ballaigues.

In this role you will ensure the supply of raw materials, packaging materials and components in the shortest possible time and by optimizing stock levels to ensure the proper functioning of production and to provide the best customer service.

This includes scheduling and managing the deliveries, to ensure we meet the requirements of production. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining valid plans for the acquisition of parts and materials (purchase plan).

Responsibilities
  • Analyze supply planning data to validate purchasing requirements, process purchase orders and create purchase forecast
  • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, components and different factory supplies.
  • Ensure orders are confirmed by the suppliers and latest delivery dates maintained in the system.
  • Action any items needing expedited or postponed. Following up with suppliers on any material that is past due.
  • Define safety stock level for each item, perform periodic as well as ad-hoc reviews and adjust accordingly in the ERP.
  • Keep inventory level within defined objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to supply lead times
  • Implement blanket orders while limiting the risk of obsolescence - verify the product continuation and change plans beforehand.
  • Set-up, maintain and perform regular review of material planning parameters in ERP (MOQ, multiple, lead-time, purchasing requirements /notes on PO etc.)
  • Ensure all delivered POs are invoiced. Work with Finance on closing invoicing gaps.
  • Maintain good relationship with suppliers, put in place periodic business & KPI reviews when needed.
  • Closely collaborate with Procurement department on supplier management (for example different issue resolutions, price negotiations, contract management, supplier rationalization, dual sourcing activities etc.)
  • Collaborate with Supplier quality team, Marketing, Logistics, R&D, Finance, S&OP and Operations
  • Participate in new product introduction and continuous improvement projects
  • Participate in and provide data for evaluation of supplier service performance and work with quality, sourcing and suppliers to improve performance.
  • Perform monthly review of E&O data and propose the disposition plan, avoid new E&O creation.
  • Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
Profile Requested
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in supply chain or equivalent level of relevant experience
  • APICS certification is preferred
  • Certification in Purchasing is a plus (i.e. Brevet fédéral spécialiste Achat & Approvisionnement)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply planning
  • Previous experience in medical industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of Purchasing processes
  • Experience with ERP system (MS Dynamics 365, SAP)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power query is a plus
  • Used to working with large sets of data
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in analytical tasks
  • Fluent speaking and written command of English and French is a must (Min B2 level certified)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organized, rigorous and reliable
  • Methodical and attentive to details
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams on an international basis.
