Director of Marketing

Balavant Insurance Group is a fast-growing insurance holding company and MGA operator platform, backed by private equity firm Sky Knight Capital. We currently operate four portfolio companies, each with its own brand, broker relationships, and go-to-market motion, and we are actively acquiring and launching new programs with the expectation to grow to 15 portfolio companies over the next few years.

This is a rare seat: one marketing leader operating across an entire platform rather than a single brand. You will own strategy, vendor management, and hands-on execution for a portfolio that spans specialty commercial insurance. No two weeks look the same. We’ve deliberately built this role to be high-leverage rather than high-headcount. You’ll have a vendor bench for specialist execution (SEO, paid media buying, Hub Spot administration) so your time goes to the work only you can do: strategy, prioritization, vendor management, and creative.

AI-assisted production is core to how this function runs.

• Set program-level marketing strategy across four (and growing) portfolio companies, each with distinct programs, audiences, channels, and competitive dynamics.
• Prioritize demand for marketing services across the platform and defend those calls to portfolio company leadership
• Partner directly with portfolio company CEOs and platform leadership, representing marketing in executive-level conversations
• Direct and execute brand and creative production, setting standards and using AI tooling to accelerate output
• Build brand identity and credibility for new portfolio companies (logo, brand voice, image, visual identity)
• Manage a vendor bench for specialist execution (creative, paid media, content, Hub Spot implementation), holding partners accountable for cost and quality
• Select and setup Mar Tech stack
• Own hands-on execution of demand generation programs in Hub Spot: campaign creation, retargeting, lead scoring, segmentation, MQL reporting
• Establish self-serve tools and branded templates so portfolio company sales teams can handle low-complexity marketing needs independently
• Own budget, allocation, and forecasting for the marketing function

• 8-12 years in B2B demand generation or marketing Biz Ops experience
• Experience selling through an intermediated or broker-based channel
• Exceptionally strong in prioritization, creative problem solving, and execution
• A track record spanning strategy, creative and content production, and marketing operations, not just one lane.
• Comfortable declining requests and managing executive expectations with a firm, respected hand.
• Willing to ship AI-assisted creative that meets a high bar without chasing perfection on every asset.
• Curious about next-generation, AI-forward marketing workflows rather than defaulting to agency production.
