At our Birr site, we repair and overhaul critical turbine components, contributing directly to performance, reliability, and sustainability. What you will make happen As Production Quality Manager - Repair Shop (One Birr), you will take overall responsibility for quality topics within the Repair Shop in Birr.

You will lead and develop the Rotor Shop team, including quality inspectors and quality specialists. You will work closely with teams across Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, and Engineering to ensure strong collaboration and consistent quality along the full value chain. You will connect with customers on all quality related topics and help build trust through clear communication and reliable outcomes. You will support and improve quality standards to enable on-time delivery with strong and consistent quality.

You will guide and support continuous improvement activities, helping the team learn, improve, and solve problems in a structured way. You will help develop processes and team capabilities, contributing to a sustainable quality culture and operational excellence.

As Production Quality Manager Repair Shop (One Birr), you will:

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to a team of quality inspectors and specialists.
• Take overall responsibility for quality performance within the Repair Shop.
• Guide, support, and develop a small team of quality inspectors and engineers.
• Ensure the implementation, sustainability, and continuous improvement of Built In Quality (BIQ) principles.
• Promote a  Right First Time  approach by supporting preventive quality methods in daily operations.
• Support teams in meeting inspection plans, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
• Act as the main quality contact for internal and external customers.
• Ensure timely and sustainable handling of non-conformances (NCRs) with minimal impact on operations.
• Guide structured root cause analyses (e.g. 8D, 5 Why) and support effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical field (or technical background with relevant professional and team coordination experience)
• Proven experience in disciplinary and technical leadership of teams
• Experience in quality manufacturing, Lean, or continuous improvement, ideally in power generation or heavy industry
• Understanding of inspection and testing methods for turbine components or similar equipment
• Proven experience in team coordination within production or quality environments
• Knowledge of structured problem solving methods (e.g. 8D, 5 Why)
• Understanding of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
• Good communication skills in both German and English is a must
• Nice to have Experience in strengthening Built In Quality (BIQ) in production environments
• Ability to translate data into practical improvement actions
• Confidence in customer and audit situations
• Qualification as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
• Structured and solution oriented way of working in a dynamic environment
