Postdoctoral Fellow for particle physics research on the CMS experiment

The High-Energy Physics Group at PSI is a member of the CMS collaboration at the CERN LHC with leading contributions in detector development, operation and data analysis. The group plays an active role in the upgrade of the CMS detector for the High-Luminosity LHC and is responsible for the design and construction of the Tracker Extended PiXel TEPX system.

For the High-Energy Physics group of the Laboratory for Particle Physics we are looking for a

Your tasks
  • Take a leading role in the assembly, testing and qualification of pixel detector modules for the CMS TEPX detector
  • Contribute to the integration of the TEPX detector
  • Contribute to service work within the CMS collaboration
  • Present the results of your work at conferences and in publications
Your profile
  • You have a PhD degree in experimental particle physics
  • You have demonstrated experience in detector testing and qualification and strong software skills
  • Experience in data-analysis at a particle physics experiment is an asset
  • You have proficient language skills in English and good communication skills
  • You are motivated and independent, strive to contribute with new ideas and like to work in international collaborations
