Research Associate Analytics Energy from Biomass 80 - 100 %
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Institute for Biomass and Resource Efficiency Your tasks:

  • Conducting and evaluating experimental series as well as chemical analyses (GC/MS/FID, CHNS, XRF, TGA, ...) in projects on thermochemical conversion of biomass and recycling of valuable materials
  • Supporting the operation and maintenance of the modern equipped chemical laboratory (e.g. GC/MS, experimental galvanics, macro-TGA, XRF, stirring autoclave, apparatus for catalyst production)
  • Technical support and instruction of users on laboratory equipment
  • Co-supervision of semester and diploma theses, supervision of laboratory exercises on topics of bioenergy utilisation and resource efficiency
  • Collaboration in a committed, interdisciplinary team composed of staff from the institute and the respective industry and university partners
Your profile:
  • Completed vocational training as a chemical laboratory technician with initial professional experience. University degree (Master) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology with a focus on chemical analytics
  • Knowledge in analytics and experimental methods of bioenergy processes is an advantage
  • Very good German and English spoken and written
  • Structured and independent working style with pronounced organisational skills, high personal responsibility and strong safety awareness
  • Team-oriented personality with good communication skills and enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary environment

The position is initially limited until 31.12.2027.
